About the Role
Staff Software Product Engineer on the Air Billing team, responsible for setting the technical direction for a generational rebuild of biller-workflow platforms (frontend and backend architecture) across multiple teams.
Key Responsibilities
Set technical direction for the biller-workflow platform and drive adoption across the RCM engineering org. Establish standards and patterns for component conventions, design systems, data-fetching, API contracts, testing, and observability. Lead cross-cutting problems including data-dense tables at scale, idempotent bulk operations, unified claim activity timelines, and AI embedding for friction reduction. Ensure engineering excellence through architecture reviews, code review, and mentorship. Own reliability and performance in production. Partner with product, design, and billing operations to improve billing workflow software.
Requirements
8+ years building large-scale, full-stack applications. Org-wide frontend leadership experience, including design system adoption and React rendering optimization. Strong API and data-layer design skills for large datasets. Track record leading multi-month, multi-team initiatives. Strong debugging and observability instincts. Excellent communication skills. Ownership mindset. Deep expertise in TypeScript/React, Python, and PostgreSQL.
Nice to Have
Experience with analytical/OLAP stores (StarRocks, ClickHouse, Druid). Familiarity with healthcare billing data (EDI X12, clearinghouses, ERAs/EOBs, denial codes). Experience shipping LLM-powered features into production. Strong product intuition for UX/UI. Experience with developer tooling and CI/CD pipelines for frontend. Experience in highly regulated industries. Passion for improving healthcare operations.
